Performing Handel’s Messiah, Gatley Choir are inviting you to join in with the Hallelujah chorus. Everyone is welcome to join in whether you have sung it hundreds of times before or are completely new to the whole choral singing experience.
For anyone nervous about singing, don’t be! It’s not compulsory, and they also have two opportunities for you to go and practice with them beforehand. The choir rehearsals on Monday 27th March and 3rd April (from 7:30pm-8:30pm in Elm Road United Reformed Church) are free and open to everyone, and Denise, choir conductor, will take you through the chorus in detail and help everyone get the most out of their voice.
As we said, the concert itself takes place on Saturday 8th April at St Andrew’s Church, Cheadle Hulme SK8 5ET (please note this is NOT their usual URC venue because of the extra space required for the orchestra). Tickets are priced at £10 (concessions £8) and are available from choir members, from 0161 442 8525 or on the door.
If you are interested in joining in with the Have-a-go Hallelujah but aren’t coming to the rehearsals it would be useful if you could let Gatley Choir know beforehand so they can ensure there is space for you to join the choir on the day. If you already have a copy of the music feel free to bring it along, but copies will be available for those who don’t.
