A Memory Walk is planned for September 13th from Gatley Train Station. Walkers are encouraged to write messages to loved ones, or messages of support on gold ribbons. These will be tied to the railings at the Walter Stansby Memorial Park.
Refreshments will be available afterwards at Elm Road Church. Donations will be split between End of Treatment Bells, an organisation which helps patients to celebrate major milestones during cancer treatment, and Friends of Rosie, a Manchester based charity dedicated to researching children’s cancers.
Children’s cancer isn’t as rare as people think. It is, however, very neglected in terms of funding and researching. This is why the team who turn Gatley gold are passionate about raising awareness.
Awareness = Research = Cure
